Kitesurfing Lessons
Then, we move onto the confidence building so you can fly single-handed. During our lessons, you will develop an understanding of how to create power and control with the kite, also activate the safety systems. Once confident that you’ve got the basics, we simply add the board to your feet to get you up and riding.
Your Byron Bay kitesurfing school
We operate in the Northern Rivers, NSW & Southern Queensland. Kitesurfing lessons are instructed in and around the Byron Bay region, Ballina and Lennox Head in the Northern Rivers. Our Southern Queensland lessons are done at the famous Gold Coast.

Lesson Guide
We all learn at a different pace, and the following points serve as a guide. Your previous experience with board sports and sailing, as well as other factors will determine how many lessons you will need, depending on your own personal goals. All our lessons are taught completely catered to your specific ability.
A comprehensive lesson covering aspects of setting up, flying the kite & the safety systems, depending on your progress we will most often stay dry and practice all aspects on land/beach! You will learn the Wind Window and Wind directions and we cover alot of the key aspects/safety to this amazing sport of Kitesurfing.
With the beginner lesson mastered we will take your kite skills to the water and practice water starts, water landing and launching. You will get a chance to get up and riding in one direction and safely stop, and then ride in the other direction in the flat water. If you have never ridden a board we can practise with the boat assist. Safety and control are paramount here and we make sure you are having fun!
With two lessons completed the plan from now on is to get you confidently up and riding on the water. We closely watch and carefully instruct you through all aspects of lesson one and two and advance you on from here at your own pace! Once up and riding in both directions we will be teach you the transition, gain more speed and style.
This lesson is for students that have already kited and need a refresh of their existing skills. People are drawn to this lesson if they have had some time away from Kitesurfing? Your own gear is preferred, but if your gear is not safe we can supply you with current quality equipment. We will work closely with you to increase your confidence and get your adrenaline pumping again.
We utilise radio helmets and boat support, offering the best experience possible. Lessons are suitable for age 12 years and over. If the child is under 18 years, they must be supervised by a parent or guardian.
